From its beginnings in 1990 when Sue Marsden-Smedley and Sally Furniss sold their handmade knitwear from Church Farm, Burrington, for a local charity, The Fair has grown and evolved. Five years ago The Mendip Christmas Fair moved to the Aldwick Estate, Aldwick Court Farm. The venue is situated off the A38 near Redhill, 20 minutes south of Bristol. It is a glorious setting with vineyards and views to the Mendip Hills; there is ample parking and access for all, with free entry for children under 16.
Now a much loved and well supported event, raising money and awareness for The Guild of Friends of The Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and Children’s Hospice South West. In 2019 we were able to give £6,500 to each of these charities.
Former chair, Rosemarie Harrison, has recently been recognised by the League of Mercy for her valuable contribution to these children’s charities.
